On Thursday, the FBI captured a man who lives in Texas who is planning to destroy 70% of the Internet with the help of a bomb attack that targets the Amazon Web Services data center located on Smith Switch Road in Virginia.

The arrested criminal was named Seth Aaron Pendley, a 28-year-old young guy who is planning to destroy the AWS data center by using the C-4 plastic explosive that he tried to purchase from an undercover FBI agent.

However, the FBI is tracking the suspect’s behavior or plans from January when they founded that he plot on the MyMilitia website with the help of Dionysus handle. It is an organization that is used by militia members and their supporters while communicating with each other.

The FBI agents notified that at end of January the Aaron was contacted through a Signal messaging application and he was planning to plant a C-4 explosive while attacking the Amazon data center to turn off 70% of the Internet.

According to the complaint, Aaron also had a hand-map of the Amazon Virginia data center that contains all the routers and the entry, exit point of the facility. As per the investigation, the person who is helping Aaron is an undercover FBI agent that is also responsible for supplying explosive to Aaron.

Aaron also said that he told the supplier that he was planning to bomb the servers and he needs the explosive that was used by the CIA, FBI, and other US Federal agencies. After the Amazon data center, the criminal also wants to take down the oligarchy which is currently operating in the United States.

How the Undercover FBI Agent is Connected?

The attacker meets the FBI agent on April 8 and the agent convinced the attacker that he get the explosive that he wants while he gets the inert device.

The attacker is captured by the FBI after placing them into his car and they also follow the demonstration that the explosive supplier and how to use and detonate the bomb.

Whereas, the investigation is going on if the attacker is found guilty then he had to face prison for 20 years. The US Attorney Prerak Shah said that we are very much concerned about the citizen of the United States who are reported and defend this attack. The informer also saves the life of multiple tech workers who are working on the data center. They also feel very proud of their informers who defend this operation while inert the explosive device before it caused harm to multiple peoples.

However, Amazon also shared the statement about this attack which is described below;

“We would appreciate the FBI and we are thankful to them for their work and investigation. We are now apply more security and safety to our premises and take secured our customers data. We are continuously reviewing the multiple factors towards these potential attacks and we will continue to retain the vigilance about the protection of our staff and customers.”
