Checkout the Upcoming Features of Microsoft’s Windows Cloud PC!

As we all know that Windows has always existed to be a stage for the world’s innovation. It’s always been the backbone of global businesses. The web was born and grew up on Windows. It’s the place where many of us wrote our first email, played our first PC game, and wrote our first line of code. Windows is the place people go to establish, to connect, to learn, and to get – a platform over a billion people today rely on it. So in this write-up, we will discuss the new feature of Microsoft’s Windows.

From the various finding, what we know so far is that Microsoft has been secretly working on a new Windows PC experience called “Cloud PC” that permits business customers to run virtualized desktops in the cloud.

Cloud PC uses Window Virtual Desktop and remote desktop clients to stream a Windows desktop to any other device, also reportedly based on Azure. However, Cloud PC won’t replace any current versions of Windows or virtualization technology but rather will be utilized as an additional option for Microsoft 365 customers who want to approach their cloud-based desktop from anywhere at any time.

According to the searches, Microsoft may disclose the new Cloud PC during the Inspire 2021 on July 14th, whose keynotes are heavily focused on Microsoft Cloud initiatives.

There is an Inspire conference named “What’s next in End-User Computing,” where individuals can “learn about the upcoming Microsoft cloud solution for enabling hybrid work.”

As mentioned by ZDNet, this session is being given by Scott Manchester, the Director of Program Management for Cloud Managed Desktops at Microsoft.

What are the Features of this Upcoming Cloud PC?

As per the earlier reports, Cloud PC will let users access their work apps and programs online from any device. This means it will be supported by all remote desktops apps and mobile apps, but you will need a Microsoft 365 account to access and subscribe to the services.

The company is said to be working on three distinct tiers for Cloud PC services:

  • Medium tier: 2 virtual CPUs, 96GB of SSD storage, and 4GB of RAM.
  • Heavy tier: 2 virtual CPUs, 96GB of SSD storage, and 8GB of RAM.
  • Advanced tier: 3 virtual CPUs, 40GB of SSD storage, and 8GB of RAM

According to the information found by our researchers, admin will be permitted to upgrade their virtual desktops as required with extra memory, CPUs, and storage.

The Cloud PC management console will also permit the admin to handle PCs to perform tasks, such as upgrading devices and performing restarts, resets, renames, and diagnostics of the Cloud PC.

Although, a screenshot found in the scripts utilized by the services is for Windows 10 desktop, signifying that Cloud PC will likely open with Windows 10 and then add Windows 11 when it will be available.

It is unidentified if Cloud PC will support Windows Virtual Desktop’s web-browser client, but we learned that the services will support the following Remote Desktop clients:
