British Court Blocks U.S Request to Extradition of Wikileaks Founder!

The latest news coming from the United States that the British court has denied a request to deport the founder of Wikileaks Julian Assange on charges of illegally obtaining and distributing classified information concerning national security. Julian Assange is charged while publishing thousands of classified documents and broke the law and endangered lives.

British District Judge Vanessa Baraitser says that “The mental condition of Julian Assange is very oppressive therefore we cannot deport him to the jail”

Whereas the US government officials say that;

“We are very disappointed by the court’s decision, we are gratified that United States prevailed on the point of the law raised”

Mr. Julian Assange will now go to Belmarsh Prison where his full application of bail was made and his lawyer Ed Fitzgerald QC shows the evidence to the court that Julian Assange would not be an abscond.

What Happened with Julian Assange?

The US government filed a case against the founder of Wiki Leaks that Wikileaks published multiple leaked documents of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

These classified documents holds more that 95,000 Afghanistan and 450,000 Iraq war-related activities reports and 800 Guantanamo Bay detainee assessment and around 250,000 + U.S department of state cables information has been leaked according to the U.S Department of Justice.

The Agency also disclosed that Wikileaks is also responsible for abiding by the law and endangered the lives of common people. Wikileaks was also responsible for leaking sensitive information related to national defense.

What did the Judge’s Opinion?

The US District Judge Vanessa Baraitser says that Assange is incapable of preventing him from attempting to take his own life. The Judge also outlines the evidence of Assange’s self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

According to the Judge, the victim is depressed and sometimes the despairing man is fearful for his future.

On the other hand, his fiancée Stella Moris was spoken out that the US president should end this now and let out little boys have their father, free Julian, free us all.

She also says that “Journalism is nor or neither be a crime”

Whereas Judge also says that the defense had provided much evidence that proved the victim is suffering from depression and has a written a will from the priest, also the judge includes that razor blade was found hidden in a cell at Belmarsh prison.

The federal grand jury indicted Julian Assange last May related to unlawfully, obtaining, receiving, and transmitting the classified information, and created a conspiracy to commit a crime that to crack the password hash preserved in the U.S Department of Defense system connected to SIPRNet.

In case the founder of Wikileaks is convicted then he faced a maximum of 10 years in prison and on each count with the conspiracy to commit the crime, for that he faces 5 years in prison.

Whereas the other US non-profit organization the Freedom of the Press said that

“This case again the founder of Wikileaks is most sposticated threat to US press freedom in decades. This is the sigh of huge relief to everyone who cases about the rights of journalists.”

Specialists Opinions on Julian Case

As the British Court declares its judgment about Julian Assange’s case the experts across the world say different things regarding this case.

Rebecca Vincent the director of international campaigns says that;

“I am totally disappointed with court findings that the case against the founder of Wikileaks is not the matter of free speech and political retribution”. She also said that “ We are still convinced that Mr. Julian has been targeted for his contribution to journalism, but the publication leaked the confidential information that is very sensitive.”

Whereas Bruce Brown the director of Reporters Committee for Freedom of Press said that;

“The act of publishing the confendtial information that the US government don’t want to public is not akin to spying. It’s a troubling thing that British court sided with US Department of Justice rejected the request”

On the other hand, the Mexican President Anders Manual Lopez Obrador said that

“The released Aassange would be offered a political asylum in Mexico. He is a journalish and he also deserves a change, I am in favor of its protection and We’ll give him prtection”

The Journalist and Documentary head John Pilger has tweeted that

“It was wonderful that adding the UK ruling was face-saving cover for the british to justify their disgraceful trail on America”
