Digital Ocean is a cloud hosting company that was experienced a data breach attack that exposed the details of the customer’s billing information. After that, an email is sent to the customers by the organization that states that these vulnerabilities would permit the attackers to access the customer’s data between April 9th to April 22nd, 2021.

However, in the email, the organization also said that the attackers gained access to some user billing details due to the bug which is now patched or fixed and the organization also said that the attack impacted a small percentage of the customers.

The organization also states that the exposed information holds the customer name, address, payment card details, last 4 digits of the credit card, and the account holder’s name.

Meanwhile, the organization fixed this bug and notify the relevant authorities but it is still not clear what agencies are investigating.

The VP of Security at DigitalOcean said that this bug will expose only 1% data of our customers and we are investigating it. The organization spokesperson also said that they will be taking every step to caught the attackers and they are also adopting improved security methods that will prevent these types of attacks.

Whereas, last year the organization also experienced a data breach that leaks the data that contain the information of customers and the accounts, that hackers exposed publicly. After that, the organization also said that we are the team that built on trust and we are taking serious steps to make sure these things don’t happen again.
