Nowadays, hackers are also getting hacked, Maza an online hidden cybercriminal forum got targeted and hacked by unknown attackers.
This is the fourth forum that got compromised this year, according to the experts this attack was executed on 3rd March and steals the information of members that consist the usernames, hashed passwords and email addresses, and disclosed publicly on a notification page that was put by the attackers and also framed that “Your Data has been Leaked” and “This Forum has been Hacked”.
What Happened with Mazafaka?
The security researcher also added that the PDF file contains multiple user data and a file that is sub-divided into 3000 rows, the includes usernames, email addresses, password hashes, and other confidential details.
Basically, Mazafaka is an elite version and a Russian-language cybercrime organization that started in 2003 and now working on an online space and providing ransomware-as-a-service tools while conducting other forums and execute cyber operations.
Whereas these forums are successfully breached by unknown hackers that include Crdclub, Verified, and Exploit. Verified has breached on January 20, the hackers behind this operation have claimed access to complete database and other popular organizations called Raid Forums.
The attackers also transferred $150,000 of cryptocurrency from Verified’s bitcoin wallet to their wallets. Then in February another cybercrime forum named as CrdClud disclosed that they also experienced an attack and their administrative accounts are affected. No personal information is leaked in this data breach.
Whereas, the Exploit another organization also faced the same attack that targeted and compromise their proxy servers that used while safeguarding the organization from the distribution of denial-of-service attacks.
The hackers behind these attacks wanted to use a money transfer service that was legally vouched by the administrative department. But multiple experts said that this is not the truth, the investigation is still ongoing and no one is identified yet, the unknown amount of money is transferred.
If we talk about the details of these attacks is a little fizzy, the organization members are thinking that this attack is executed under government supervision and it could exploit the real identities of the hackers who owned these forums with the help of data leaked.
Summering Up
However, several experts also noted that the Russian organization named as Maza notification page was designed and translated in non-Russian language and it is still unclear that how the hackers implement these attacks and mislead the attribution.
Whereas Inter 471 is not clamming anyone for this operation, and who are working behind these attacks have an indirect advantage, the information that was used while executing the attacks is very confidential and these breaches are also taken as the fight against these cybercriminals forums that added the visibility which gives to the security teams who are finding the hackers who owned these organizations.
