UL LLC is also known as Underwriters Laboratories, which is the largest and the oldest organization situated in the United States working with 14,000 employees and located in over 40 countries. The organization is suffered from a ransomware attack that encrypted their servers and results to shut down the system for the recovery process.

Last week, the security researcher discovered that Underwriters Laboratories suffered from a ransomware attack, and their devices are encrypted. While revoking this attack, the organization shut down its systems and working with very limited employees.

The organization also told their employees that don’t visit any site related to the operation and don’t try to contact the attackers. The organization also decided not to pay any type of ransom to the attackers that are working on restoring their backups.

The Underwrites Laboratories spokesperson said that the attack was executed on 13th February and the investigation is still running. They also said that the UL detected unauthorized activity on their system on 13th February and they took immediate steps while addressing the attack, they shut down their systems and taking help from other security firms by alerting the authorities.

The organization wants to minimize the disruption caused by this attack. Along with that they also added we are learning multiple things from our investigation and we cannot detect the information that is impacted, we are taking all the possible action to revoke this attack.
