Google is Going to Enable Multiple-Factor Authentication for Better Security!

Google is now advising all the users to start two-factor authentication, which revokes the unwanted attacks from controlling the accounts that were compromised by guessing passwords and leaked credentials.

The organization takes this more while enhancing the security of Google accounts and revoking all the threats which were caused by the password leaking, some password is hard to remember and some are very easy as they will permit the attackers to steal their data.

Therefore, the organization takes this action, in the first stage, they will ask the users to enable two-factor authentication as they confirm their account by tapping the Google prompts on their systems and smartphone wherever they signed in. While enrolling the 2FA towards your Google Account, the users will add the extra layer of security and revokes the attacks while accessing their data and accounts.

According to the experts, the mobile device sign-in makes the user more secure and safe by using 2FA rather than their password alone. Google also announced in January 2020, that iPhones who are executing iOS 10 or later could also be used as the security keys while verifying the user account sign-ins into Chrome OS, macOS, iOS, and in Windows also without completed pairing.

However, the organization also created the security key while built-in Android phones and executed the Android 7.0+ (Nougat) that was generally available and also permits the iOS users to verify the sign-ins into Google Cloud services by using the Android phones security keys.

Know-How Two-Factor Authentication Protects your Account?

As the user will enable the two-factor authentication, it will block unwanted access and 2FA will create an extra defense layer that prevents the malicious attackers from logging in.

This simply means that the attackers will not be able to access your account if they have your credentials. This 2FA will add the extra layer of security and it will open your account if you confirm the notification whether it is in the form of text, voice, Google Authenticator application, or using the security keys.

In the two-factor authentication, users have to confirm their identities 2 times. First, they to enter the password or then at second steps they have to confirm the security code that they received through text, call, or mobile app. Users also store the code into a USB device and they will plug that device while logging in.

Summering Up

Although, the Director of Security at Microsoft said that “Your password doesn’t matter, but your Multi Factor Authentication does!” According to the analysis user accounts will more be secured at 99% if you were using the MFA as compare to normal passwords.

Experts also said that anything that could be use as a password but the weak password will increase the chance of attack and strong passwords are tough to remember. Therefore MFA is the best option while securing your account in a trouble-free manner. If all are using the MFA then the password stolen attacks will be a thing of the past.
